Economic Development

Affordability is a ratio. It’s the cost of living, including housing, divided by income. What we do as a city has significant impacts on day-to-day living for people, especially families with children and those on fixed incomes. Primary jobs that pay a livable wage, places to recreate, well-defined mixed use areas and easily accessible healthy food are basic to our economy. Without a well-paying job people struggle just to put food on the table, diminishing the quality of life we are charged with enhancing. With a safe, walkable community, people and our small business will thrive.
